Canadian Firearms Academy is committed to the preservation of shooting sports and recognizes the challenges that come with it. Therefore, for a limited time we are offering courses at significantly reduced price without compromising quality and service.
The Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE) course is British Columbia's hunter education program. All BC residents of 14 years of age or older that wish to hunt or obtain a BC hunting license are legally required to have passed all components of this course.
The goal of the CORE Program is to ensure that prospective hunters meet acceptable standards of knowledge and skill for safe and ethical participation in hunting recreation. Individuals who have completed a hunter education program from another province or state in North America can be exempt from the requirement to complete the CORE Program. Contact the Government Agent at BC Access Centres for more details on program exemption.
Although hunters make up the largest percentage of students enrolling in the CFA CORE program, it has been observed that many in the outdoor recreation community have found this course extremely useful due to its in-depth education of first aid, animal and bird identification, and other useful wilderness survival knowledge.
The CORE program consists of 2 parts. A practical firearms handling test, and a written examination on all of the following subjects:
Conservation Ethics
Law and Regulations
