Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Canadian Firearms Academy Ltd (“CFA,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect when you register for a course or use our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Information we collect
When you register for a course, purchase a gift certificate, or contact us, we collect the information you provide: your name, the names of any students you register, your email address, phone number, and your booking details (course, date, and number of seats). When you pay by card, your payment is processed securely by Stripe — we do not see or store your full card number. When you pay by Interac e-Transfer, we record your order number and the email associated with your booking.
We also collect limited technical information automatically, such as your IP address and basic device information, which is used to keep the site secure (for example, rate-limiting and bot protection) and to help the site function.
How we use your information
We use your information to process your registration and payment, send you booking confirmations, reminders and the course manual, manage your booking through your account (including rescheduling), respond to your enquiries, and keep accurate business records. We may contact you about your specific course booking. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers we rely on
To run our website and bookings, we share the minimum necessary information with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf: Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (secure database hosting), Resend (sending confirmation and reminder emails), Vercel (website hosting), and Cloudflare (security and bot protection). These providers are bound to protect your information and use it only to provide their services to us. Some of these providers may process data outside Canada.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work — for example, to keep you signed in to your account and to support our security tools. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your registration and payment records for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations, after which the information is securely deleted or anonymized.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, or if you have any questions about this policy, contact us at tony@canadianfirearmsacademy.ca or 604-562-7546. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our services relate to firearms licensing and are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children except where a parent or guardian registers a minor for a course and provides that information directly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent version, and the current policy will always be posted on this page.
